Miguel Chion MD,
MPH currently is the program manager for “Acción
Mutua” a Capacity Building Assistance program for AIDS Project Los
Angeles. He has more than 10 years of
experience in behavioral research, program evaluation, capacity building
assistance and training in the HIV/AIDS and public health arenas. In the past Miguel has managed some of the
internal evaluation projects at APLA and several external evaluation contracts
with Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center, Clinica Monseñor Romero Community Center, National Native American AIDS Prevention Center and the City of West Hollywood. He has also participated in the dissemination
of evaluation findings at local venues as well as the American Public Health
Association, and the American Evaluation Association. Additionally, he conducted investigations of
sexual risk factors with MSM and MSM drug users, and worked on AIDS
epidemiological surveillance nationwide in Perú. Miguel has worked closely with
Kaiser Permanente’s Educational Theatre Programs to design and develop
evaluation instruments for their world renowned prevention interventions
through art. Currently, Miguel manages
the capacity building assistance program serving community based organizations
and health departments implementing effective behavioral interventions for
Latinos in the Western region of USA.
