El INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON PHLEBOTOMINE SANDFLIES, este año en su 6ta edición (ISOPS6), es una reunión científica de carácter internacional, que convoca a científicos especializados en la Subfamilia Phlebotominae (Diptera: Psychodidae). Especies de Phlebotominae son vectores de Leishmaniosis, Bartonelosis and Phlebovirus, y están  distribuidos muy ampliamente en todo el mundo. En ISOPS6 se presentará estudios actualizados sobre diferentes aspectos de los Phlebotominae, que incluyen Taxonomía, Biogeografía, Biología, Biología Molecular, Fisiología, relación Vector-Patógeno, Epidemiología, Vigilancia del Vector y Control. Las investigaciones serán presentadas y discutidas durante 5 días. Las conclusiones y recomendaciones de ISOPS6 serán publicadas en revistas científicas nacionales e internacionales

 

ABOUT ISOPS

The International Symposium on Phlebotomine Sandflies, this year is the 6th edition (ISOPS6), it is a meeting for scientists specialized on Phlebotominae (Diptera: Psychodidae). Sandflies are vectors of leishmaniosis, bartonellosis and virus, and are world wide geographically distributed. Updated studies on different aspects on sandfly research are presented and discussed during 5 days, such aspects include Taxonomy, Biogeography, Biology, Molecular Biology, Physiology, Vector-Pathogen relationships, Epidemiology, Vector surveillance and Control. Conclusions and recommendations of  ISOPS6 will be published in International Journals.

Deadline: July 31, 2008.

Submission by E-mail, to isops6@gmail.com you can include 1 or more abstracts in a single message. Specify whether you would prefer an Oral presentation or a Poster.

Number of characters including spaces: 2400. Abstracts should include Title, Authors, Affiliation, Text (Introduction, Objective, Methods, Results and Conclusions, Acknowledgements and Financial Support are optional).

Abstracts should be written in word processor, in font Times New Roman, font size12, (scanned versions will not be accepted).

Title and Authors: in capitals, underline the presenting author.

Acceptance of the abstracts will be communicated in late August 2008.

LIMA CONDITIONS ON LATE OCTOBER

 

The city of Lima is the capital of Peru, it is located on the western side of South America, at 160 m of altitude. Lima has 9 Million inhabitants.

The date of ISOPS6 is within the end of spring in Lima where it never rains. The temperature should be around 22°C. Please note we use 220 volt electricity.
