Submission of Abstracts and Posters will be available from November 1st, 2009 to February 01st, 2010.
General recommendations to submit abstracts and posters:
Abstracts
All abstracts must be submitted in English (the approved abstracts will be published in HAM&B)
Use Times New Roman font for the entire abstract.
A sentence stating the study objective (unless given in the title).
A brief statement of methods.
A summary of the results obtained.
A statement of the conclusions.
Acknowledgements of funding source(s).
It is not satisfactory to say "the results will be discussed.
Limit your abstract body to 2100 characters including spaces.
Title: Use a short, specific and declarative title. For the abstract title use UPPERCASE for the first letter of each word of the title.
Tables and Figures: No tables or figures are allowed.
Abbreviations: Use standard abbreviations for units of measure. Other abbreviations should be spelled out in full at first mention, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses. Exceptions: DNA, RNA, etc.
Word Processor: Prepare your abstract in any word processor format--you will be cutting and pasting into the abstract submission form. Margin settings and font size do not matter.
Notification of Programming: The presenting author will be notified by email by July 15th concerning the title, date and time of the session for which their abstract is scheduled, the format of presentation (oral, poster or both), and the specific presentation time. It is up to the presenting author to advise coauthors about the presentation.
Size your text so most of it can be read from 1 meter/yard away
State the problem, approach, results and conclusion in easy to read and separate sections
Use plenty of figures and tables with large print to make your points.
Consider using: - teletype style to make your points
Poster boards: roughly 120cm x 120cm).
Set-Up: Posters should be on display starting the night before official viewing time.
Dates and Times: Presentation of Poster sessions will be on Sunday and Tuesday afternoons, starting at 16:00h to 18:30h.
Sunday presenters should put their posters up Saturday evening and remove them Sunday evening. Tuesday presenters should put up their posters on Monday evening, and remove them Tuesday evening.
Poster pins will be supplied. Poster boards will be numbered with the abstract/poster number as printed in the program.
Presentation: The first author shall be at the poster for the entire official viewing time.
