Organizing Committee
Dear Herediano,
The year 2011 marks the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Peruvian Cayetano Heredia University,
for that reason the University Council has at the request of the Rector, declared it to be a jubilee
year from the 22nd of September. On this day there will be a special ceremony to celebrate half a
century of existence.
Like all jubilee years, we hope that throughout the same we develop activities that permit us to take
notice of our desire, to continue to improve as an institution, to show what it has been possible to
construct in these 50 years. We want to reunite our ex-students together with their teachers, and to
join our families. In addition we will be able to enjoy academic activities of high quality, research
related activities, a rock concert, a choir concert, an exhibition on our history and achievements,
and a ceremony recognizing our teachers in a traditional ceremony similar to the appointment of
Profesores Emeritos and delivery of the Order Cayetano Heredia. Among other events, we also benefit
from a grand congress with the participation of our faculties and as a finishing touch; we recognize
the important contributions of our Nobel Prize in a central ceremony that allows all the country to
celebrate with us on this important date.
It is time to exhibit the showcase of the ‘Gold’, the best of our university. We believe in our worth
and feel it is appropriate to invite our fellow citizens to know each other better and to participate
in this year that we are celebrating. We invite you take part in this jubilee year with your presence
in any or all activities that are planned. We are sure that your personal contribution and valuable
participation will make this institutional party the best way to show a university moving to the
rhythm of your time and open the way to the centenary with a clear vision of being an institution
that is integral to the future professionals in a country that deserves better every time.
